KURDS PORTAL RULES & GUIDELINES

As the audience of Kurds Portal ranges from minors (13 years plus) to adults, we ask that all our members refrain from using explicit, vulgar language and refrain from discussion of drugs, nudity, pornography and other potentially harmful subjects; such discussions may result in a ban. These rules are in place in order to ensure that order is kept, consequently resulting in everyone feeling welcome enough to join in and participate in any discussion they wish. Therefore, Kurds Portal Staff are entitled to enforce these rules at their own discretion where they deem most appropriate.

NB: Please note that the following rules also apply to Private Messages (PM), Profiles, Avatars and Signatures.

Global Rules

1.1 Read up before asking.
1.2 Treat others with dignity and respect, flaming and insults will not be tolerated.
1.3 Use the search function before posting. Chances are your question has already been answered.
1.4 Lurk and get to know the forum before you post.
1.5 Multiple registrations are prohibited and are grounds for immediate account deletion.
1.6 If you see anything that should not appear on the forums please notify a moderator so that they can resolve the issue or use the Report button.
1.7 Official language is English only.
1.8 Requests must be made within Request forums only.
1.9 If you downloaded something, thank the poster for their efforts.
1.10 Report dead links using the Report button.

Warning System

2.1 It is the duty of Kurds Portal Staff to remain impartial and maintain professional conduct at all times. However, if they discover that a rule has been violated their responsibilities shift slightly and depending on their judgement and the severity of a violation, members may be warned or banned.
2.2 Our system uses an assortment of punishments for insubordination:

• Warnings are issued to notify a user that they have done something wrong and that they should take heed of the notice that they have been sent in order to avoid further sanctions. 10 Warnings result in a Ban.
  
  
• Bans are issued when the nature of an offence is believed to be serious enough to warrant such a serious response.

Posting Rules

3.1 Post in the correct forum. Do not use special characters full caps or 100% Working,***New***, etc..
3.2 Double posting may lead to a warning, as it is unacceptable in any circumstances. If you do accidentally double post, it is important that you inform us of this so that we can remove the additional post (without penalizing you). Instead you should post your links as Alternate Links in the already existing thread.
3.3 All links must be coded using BBCode. Failure to comply to this rule will result in a warning being issued.
3.4 Do not hijack other people's threads by going off topic (always stick to the subject).
3.5 Any posts that are edited by a moderator must not be removed or re-edited.
3.6 Leech software is not permitted to be used on Kurds Portal. If a user is found using such material, a ban will be issued.
3.7 Pornography is not allowed to be posted here. Any user that breaks this rule will immediately receive a permanent ban.

Profile Rules:

4.1 Do not post requests or inappropriate messages as visiting comments.
4.2 Do not abuse or exploit the profile page in any way.

Signature Rules:

5.1 Follow above rules
5.2 Signatures must not contain either a hyperlink or text link referring to other forums or websites
5.3 Only One Image is allowed in the signature, still we recommend text only. This helps pages load faster.

Advertise Related:

6.1 If you want to advertise on Kurds Portal, then contact us at staff@kurdsportal.com
6.2 You may only post a link (in the "Discussions Forums") if it will benefit everyone. The following is a list of forbidden categories: warez forums or any other sites that require registration, a subscription or a fee in order to gain access. Links encrypted or hidden using link protectors are not permitted.

Sharing Related:

7.1 It is strongly encouraged that you upload your content exclusively for Kurds Portal. In order to do this, you must password protect your compressed file archives using the password "kurdsportal.com".
7.2 Ensure that any links you submit on the forum are working correctly and that the password is valid.
7.3 The use of Link Protectors is Not Permitted.

Miscellaneous

8.1 Please do not request that a thread be stickied. Exceptional posts will be stickied by a Kurds Portal Staff member provided there is room.
8.2 Users may request to have their username changed by contacting the Administrator.

Shoutbox

9.1 You are not allowed to post links to ANY site in the shoutbox, the only links that are allowed are internal links
9.2 Do not swear, curse, spam or flame. Doing so will result in getting yourself banned from the shoutbox
9.3 ANY abuse towards a staff member, WILL get you a ban

Finally Kurds Portal Staff reserve the right to modify or remove any post at any time without prior notice.
